So called ‘public churches’ across America are going to offer their congregation Ayahuasca, a herb tea containing dimethyltryptamine (DMT), which is believed to be about the most powerful psychedelic drug on the planet. The church representatives say this brew is mainly to be used as a means of communication with spirits and other worlds. The drink will be pricey enough - $1500. This is for the first time that USA powers approved Ayahuasca-related church activities. While widely used in traditional medicine and rites, Ayahuasca and its effects on the human body have not been researched enough, because in most Western countries this drink is illegal. Nonetheless, a study conducted in the USA reported that harmine, a Ayahuasca’s ingredient, is effective in the combat against diabetes.
